Boring book organization post
Coupla weeks ago I was shopping on Amazon and trying to remember if I owned Night Watch, and it turns out there are tools for this, and one is called LibraryThing, which makes you feel kind of like you’re running a library, which is great if you’re into that sort of thing (I’m not, I think); and another called Goodreads, which is great if you have bad taste (I pretend like I...

Holy shit. I hate people. So much. Right now.
edit: Oh, holy shit. It is six hours later and I still hate people.
What the fuck, people? Look, this isn’t difficult; you tell somebody that you’re going to do something, and then you do it. This isn’t, like, the fucking California bar exam or launching a NASA rocket to the fucking moon, this is agreeing to move some fucking...
MY WEBSITE IS DOWN FUCK
So I get like a year of uptime when the only thing on it is some dumb picture of a dude with a thumb and globe going all “MEOWVELOUS,” but then I get some content on there and the thing shuts down after one day? NICE.

Listen, girl. I know it’s sometimes hard to smile, and I know it’s sometimes embarassing getting your picture taken. But do you really have to make that smoochy face in every photo? Could you, like, practice smiling in front of a mirror for a few minutes each day so that you never have to make that smoochy face ever again? Because your smoochy face does not say, as you might think, “I am...

To (opaquely) elaborate:
Okay. But so then. Nothing is so intellectually visceral as failing a test. This visceral is not the satisfying kind of visceral, mind, e.g. tearing apart a mango with your bare hands. I use the word because I think it invokes that fight-or-flight lizard brain which I have been grappling with lately, and the reason that sitting in a dead silent room, scanning seven pages, and realizing that I do...
Holy failing tests, Batman.

Salon on: WikiLeaks video →
Salon has some nice bulletpoints on Wikileaks’ video release from a couple days ago, which you probably already know and care deeply about. A particularly salient bit:
It’s hard to express the blinding jingoistic delusion necessary to insist — in the face of this mountain of evidence and dead civilians left in the wake of our wars — that the Apache attack is some sort of...

Boring dream post:
Last night I had a dream where I met Joey Comeau in a bookstore. I saw one of his books on a shelve and said to my friend, “Hey, that’s written by the A Softer World guy,” and then Joey Comeau jumped out from somewhere and was all, “Yeah, that was totally me.” And then I woke up and wondered about a lot of things, so yeah, anyway, good story.
